![]() This new iteration also provides a version of Batman that is very early into his career as the masked vigilante. This version is more comfortable taking down villains instead of taking home women. In the few scenes that we do see Bruce outside the suit, he almost feels awkward, which seemed by design. You get this feeling that Batman is Bruce’s ( Robert Pattinson) entire life, throwing himself into crime-fighting without the playboy antics. Gone was the balance between Bruce Wayne and Batman, which felt refreshing. Unlike the previous films, this was a Batman film first and foremost. The first thing that struck me about this film was how this new Batman movie was incredibly different from any past film iterations of Batman. So what made The Batman the best Batman movie to date? (in my humble opinion anyway) It seems like the key is doing something we haven’t seen done before. I was in awe of the scope of the film and found myself daydreaming about the impact of his film and where the sequel could go. I settled into my seat and prepared myself for a three-hour jam-packed adventure that would leave me disappointed, and I must say I walked out impressed.ĭid you see that movie? It was epic! Talk about a break-neck murder mystery film, whose focus wasn’t on who did it, but instead of why and how to stop him. However, this past week I finally decided to go to the theaters and see it. Plus, how many times can one reboot a character without feeling like they are trampling similar fields? (looking at you MGM)įor weeks I dragged my feet about seeing the latest Batman film. But unfortunately, DC’s track record with its films hasn’t been great in the past few years. Not that I don’t enjoy them, Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight will always be one of my favorites. I was soon won over by what could be the best Batman movie to date. So when a new Batman film was announced, I wasn’t necessarily jumping for joy. I grew up a Superman child and earned my comic book wings watching Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. I didn’t grow up watching his animated series like so many others my age and lack the nostalgic feelings from the Tim Burton films. This adds an element of intrigue and suspense to the story and keeps the audience engaged as they try to solve the mysteries alongside Batman.Batman isn’t my superhero. As Batman investigates the various crimes plaguing Gotham City, he must use his cunning and deductive reasoning to piece together clues and unravel complex plots. While Batman is known for his fighting skills, this iteration of the character puts a greater emphasis on his intelligence and problem-solving abilities. The film also features several iconic Batman villains, such as The Penguin, Catwoman, and The Riddler, who are all designed to closely resemble their comic book counterparts.Īdditionally, The Batman boasts a strong and diverse cast of characters, each of whom adds something unique to the story. The costume is heavily armored and features multiple gadgets and features, which help to make Batman feel more formidable. The film pays close attention to the design of Batman's costume, which is based on the character's comic book appearance. The Batman's aesthetic is also characterized by its attention to detail and commitment to staying true to the source material.
